COUNTERPOINTE/Erica Rose Jeffrey

COUNTERPOINTE (San Francisco, CA) Graduating from Pittsburgh Ballet Theater School and Indiana University, Erica Rose Jeffrey teaches, choreographs and performs in the Bay area. She has performed with Ballet Internationale, Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, Underground Arts Connection and the Chicago Lyric Opera. Since moving to San Francisco she has worked with a variety of groups such as the Marin Theater Company, American Musical Theater of San Jose, Robert Moses "Drafts", Moving Arts Dance, and has toured to China as part of a cultural exchange for the Olympics. Her work has appeared in Yerba Buena Gardens Festival, Collaborate! Dance and Music, Women on the Way Festival, COUNTERPOINTE's annual "Works in Motion," IndyConvergence and the Monterey Choreographer's Festival. Erica also teaches for the San Francisco Ballet Dance in Schools and Communities program in public schools, runs the Let's All Dance! Outreach program in Novato and directs the dance company COUNTERPOINTE. COUNTERPOINTE was recently selected to produce and choreograph for the awards ceremony for the American Geophysics Convention. Following a lifelong interest, Erica created and continues to expand the dance and conflict resolution education program Moving Toward Peace. New projects for 2011 include the co-founding Marin Dance Theatre's Parkinson's Dance Project, an affiliate of Mark Morris' highly regarded Dance for Parkinson's Disease program.
