mad arts group

mad arts group (Columbus, OH) Kevin Estes, Leigh Lotocki, Johnny Mendoza and Amanda Platt came together to contribute to a new commissioned dance piece, Out of Cast and Cave, which was performed at OSU Urban Arts Space in August 2013. After the successful completion of this project, the four artists saw an opportunity to continue working together as a cohesive group. Estes and Mendoza, doctoral candidates in The Ohio State University School of Music, and Lotocki and Platt, alumnae of Ohio State's Department of Dance, have since co-created new works combining music and dance, including a recent solo project, Manta Ray Dance, performed in November 2013 at Weigel Hall on OSU campus. The group is currently collaborating on a new dance piece with original music slated for completion and performance in May 2014 as part of a community performance partnering with the Pizzuti Collection and the Columbus Moving Company.
