Vadco/valerie alpert dance company (chicago, il) Valerie Alpert is a native of Chicago and artistic director of VADCO. Before founding her company in 2000 Alpert toured with professional repertory companies. As a member with Contemporary Dance/Fort Worth and Zenon Dance she worked with internationally known choreographers and performed across the U.S. Alpert’s own choreography has drawn praise at festivals and cities around the globe. Alpert holds a BFA from the University of Illinois, an MFA from The Ohio State University, and a Ph.D. from Texas Woman’s University.
